NANCY’S JOURNEY OF GROWTH

For Nancy, Adroit Facilities Limited became more than a job, it was a space where she built confidence, gained practical skills, and discovered a clear direction for her career.

Before Adroit: Early Work Experience

Before joining Adroit, Nancy worked as a domestic worker. Her income was meagre with limited opportunities for growth and professional development.

The Opportunity: Starting at Adroit

Nancy’s former employer relocated to the United States of America leaving her without a job. Going back to her rural home Meru was not an option. Adroit’s founder gave Nancy the opportunity to join Adroit in 2020 as a Steward.

I remember when I was called to join the next day, I was over the moon I was so happy. I didn’t know how to even use a mop, but the academy, my supervisors and team supported me throughout.

Growth and Skills Development

Through her work at Adroit, Nancy developed key skills that extended beyond technical tasks. She built confidence, professionalism, and the ability to communicate effectively.

This growth enabled her to engage more confidently in the workplace and take on new responsibilities.

Career Progression

Nancy’s dedication and growth opened new doors. She transitioned from stewarding duties into a receptionist role — a significant step in her career.

She is currently pursuing a Diploma in Front Office, building on the experience she gained. Her time at Adroit strengthened her communication, confidence, and customer‑facing skills — which led to her being absorbed by Adroit’s client as a receptionist.

Impact on Life

Working at Adroit has improved Nancy’s financial stability, enabling her to support her family and contribute meaningfully to her household. She takes pride in her ability to provide and in the independence she has built.

I am now a mother of 2 children whom I can comfortably provide for. I also take care of my mom back in Meru

Future Plans

Looking ahead, Nancy dreams of owning a piece of land, a goal she is steadily working toward as her career and income grow.
